I have spent the last hour trying to figure out how to transfer all these damnable calls to Amanda and, since I cannot figure out how to do so, into the trash can goes the phone! The blasted thing always finds its way back, anyway.

All weekend, every time anything with a ringer went off it was someone either in my family or one of my contacts from Europe calling to complain about how the government of Romania has decided to tax them for witchcraft.

The last time I checked, I did not have a direct line into President Basescu's office in order to demand that he change the law.  I do not know what they want me to do about this but they will not stop calling me!

Excuse me while I dig out the emergency bottle of wine in my desk.

Sorry, Boss Lady, you're on your own with this one - I've been tied up most of the day with the same thing, only from the extended branch of my family. Or the network asking if we approve of cursing governments now and if so, why haven't I done something about David Cameron yet.

I've told them there isn't enough dog shit in the world for a curse that big, but I don't think they're buying it.

Wearing purple is a nice touch but considering the amount of anger this stirred up, it probably will not help in the slightest.

No want wants to be legitimate because no one wants to pay for taxes. And they were surprised people would be upset?

The whole situation is a catch-22. On the one hand, you have people complaining that since they aren't recognised as legit, they're vulnerable to being ripped off, harrassed, blackmailed by the local cops and subject to the odd pitchfork-and-flaming-torch party. On the other hand, when they are recognised legally, they're up for all the usual shite, like taxes and business registration and the like, so they bitch about that instead.

And does the purple even work?
